Announcements for Saturday & Sunday, September 23 & 24, 2023 The Twenty Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
1. Our St. Genevieve Family Day Celebration will be this Sunday, September 24th immediately following 11am mass. All parishioners are invited for an afternoon of food, games, and fellowship. Everything is free as a way of thanking you for alll the support our ministries receive. The Saints game will be on the big screen.
2. We are so blessed to live in an Abortion Free Louisiana! We have changed the law, but we must continue to change minds and hearts. The 34th annual Slidell Life Chain will be held Sunday, October 1st at 2pm all along Gause Blvd. Come out and join several hundred pro-lifers in this prayerful silent event. All you must do is stand for an hour with a sign that will be passed out along the route. As usual, St. Genevieve's standing location is 8th-9th streets. See you there!
3. "Genesis To Jesus Journey Through Scripture" This is a six-week bible study designed to help everyday Catholic increase their understanding of scripture and the basic principles of the Bible. Classes will be held on Wednesday mornings Oct. 11 - Nov. 15th 10:00am - 11:45am in the Parish Life Center. Workbooks are $22 and need to be purchased by Sept. 28th. Signup with Peggy in the church office or Mary Strecker 985-641-8011.
4. Attention all present Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion! To be delegated by the archbishop for a new five-year term, each minister must attend a re-delegation session in their parish, or one being held in another parish. If you are due for Re-delegation, please attend the workshop to be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 6pm in the Family Life Center. Call the office for more information.
5. We now offer a missalette titles "The Mass for Children" to enchance our children's experience of Mass. The booklet allows kids to follow along in a language they can more easily understand. Pick one up at any church entrance and return it after Mass so other children may enjoy Mass.
6. Join us for a Candlelight Rosary in honor of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on Saturday, October 7 at 5:00pm in the Brick Memorial Garden.
7. Fr. Jerry invites you to join him on a Pilgrimage to France May 6-17, 2024. The Very Best Shrines of France Pilgrimage Tour visits some of the most important churches, basilicas, and religious monuments in France. This tour also includes a visit to the Shrine and relics of St. Genevieve in Paris. You may pick up a flyer at any entrance to the church or call the parish office for more information.
8. Next weekend second collection will be for the Society of St. Vincent De Paul.
